Charles Anders

Charles Anders, President of Strategic Initiatives, has over twenty-five years experience working on complex issues in government and the private sector. He served as Director of the Arizona Division of Environmental Health Services (State EPA) and was Assistant Director of the Arizona Department of Transportation where he was responsible for policy and planning.

In 1996, Mr. Anders founded Strategic Initiatives where he has worked extensively with public and private agencies, citizen advisory groups, and project teams to resolve a wide range of issues. Mr. Anders has conducted numerous strategic planning sessions and management retreats. He specializes in using interactive technology to enhance communications and understanding among groups and participants.

Mr. Anders also has over 10 years experience in the private sector. As lead consultant for an international environmental consulting firm, he was responsible for hundreds of projects including investigation and remediation of hazardous waste sites, facility siting, environmental permitting and compliance, and strategic planning. He is a professional engineer and has extensive experience interfacing with the public, private industry, state agencies, and local governments.
