Michael A Mazaika
1995 - 2003 Sr. VP for Corporate Development, Science Applications International Corp. Responsible for leading strategic planning activities, identification and evaluation of potential acquisitions, change management, mentoring, and troubleshooting. He served on the SAIC Corporate Incentives Committee, as well as the Board of Directors of Leadership 2000, a subsidiary of SAIC.
Previously, he was Corp. VP/GM of the Austin Division of Lockheed. This $200M operation was both a production/manufacturing center for the Corp., and a major provider of tactical command, control, and communications software systems to government agencies. He successfully turned around this failing unit and brought it to profitability.
Prior to that Mike was VP/GM of the Electro - Optical Div. of the Perkin-Elmer Corp. This unit was responsible for the development of technology leading to new lines of business for both the government and commercial sectors of the Corporation. I accomplished the charge of capitalizing on government funded technology by finding commercial applications for it.
His early career consisted of positions in both engineering and program management communities
He graduated from Polytechnic University of Brooklyn with a Bachelor of Aeronautical Engineering and from the University of Southern California with a Masters of Aerospace Engineering. He also completed the Cornell School of Executive Development.
Mike currently serves as a member of the La Jolla Woods (LJW) Architectural Review Committee, and the LJW Board. He also serves on the Advisory Council of the Triton Venture Fund, and the Board of Trustees of the Ruben H. Fleet Science Center, as well as several committees of The Fleet. He and his wife, Phyllis, lead marriage preparation workshops for their church.
